Imperfection is Sweet Perfection Indeed.

Today on Facebook, (I'm a Facebook Fanatic) my friend posted her status as:

The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem.

so I commented:
True dat. Society has screwed up values and expectations so perfect is perfect, but imperfect is perfect to me.

I'm just curious- what would you have said if one of your friends had said or, in my case, posted this? Would you have simply ignored it? Would you have thought about it?

The truth is, some type of influence has completely turned our world around. Some can be contributed to our westernized way of thinking, some universal.

To expect life to go without a hitch is just plain stupid. Even if you avoid all the pitfalls, emotional pain and stress purposely, there will be trials and tribulations that don't go your way. Yes, problems suck hippos and all that, but what really matters most is how you recover.

Think -really think about what has been taught, what's instinct, and what's really there.

It's a human instinct to judge, for example. If you see a girl with teased hair, orange tan, short skirt, and flourescent pink tube top *ahemSNOOKIEahem* then you are gonna double-take and think that such a brightly-dressed woman would be somewhat short of respectful, to say the least. But what's really there? A human. A fellow human. Every human has the ability to love, cherish, care for, and respect others.

Yes, I've plenty of examples to bore you with, but let's get to the point. Sometimes, the answer is right in front of you! Life is simple, it's just our natural instinct to make it complicated. Part of the struggle is making it simple.

Thanks for keeping up with all this!

in joy in life,
soyoung.
